Craft Campus Design Charrette

February 26 Design Charrette
February 26 Design Charrette

The Craft Campus Integrated Design Charrette held February 26, 2005, was the fifth in a series of design workshops that are defining the scope of the new campus.

The charrette brought together UNC Asheville art and environmental studies faculty and students, state and county representatives, a professional design team including Brown and Jones Architecture and Frank Harmon Architects, and participants of earlier workshops held in spring of 2004.

The charrette contributed to the development of a cohesive, systematic view of the craft campus focusing on green building principles and integrating studio needs, public spaces, and site-specific energy sources including landfill gas, wind, and solar power.
