The design of the Craft Campus comprises a number of stages common to State construction projects:

Pre-design: This phase focused on the architectural design, scientific planning and site design through a five-part integrated design charrette. The architectural team was led by Brown & Jones Architects Inc. and Frank Harmon Architect. Jonah Butcher served as the contracted development director facilitating preliminary technical studies.

Design: The design period will start with schematic design and go through several distinct phases before construction.

Construction: The construction of campus buildings and infrastructure will take place.

Campus Habitation: It is anticipated that the Craft Campus will be operational in 2010-2011.

The Craft Campus will be funded through private resources, including foundation and government grants for the arts and renewable energy, as well as corporate and individual gifts.
