UNC Asheville Crafts Program

Student work by
Laura Aultman (Class of '03)

UNC Asheville Art Department currently offers courses in art history, ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

When the Craft Campus opens, the ceramics and sculpture programs will be relocated and will allow the Department to serve the students who are turned away every semester from craft classes due primarily to lack of workspace. Campus planners expect a 20-50% increase in Art Department enrollment when the Craft Campus opens.

The most striking change in curriculum for the university will be the addition of a hot glass major. This will be the first of its kind in the UNC system and one of only a few in the country.

Four studios will be housed at the Craft Campus:

  Welcome - Academics - Admissions - Library - Technology - Athletics
Administration - Community Resources - Inside UNCA
Prospective Students - Current Students - Alumni and Friends - Faculty and Staff
