Crisis
Response
During any crisis
and its aftermath, students wishing to speak with a counselor should
call 828-251-6517 during business hours and can access emergency counseling
services after hours through Public Safety (828-251-6710). Please understand
that there may be a short wait, but that you will be seen as quickly
as possible.
If your student group or residence hall floor would like someone
from the Counseling Center to come and talk about emotional concerns
and the psychological impact of this crisis, please contact us to
schedule a meeting.

Students in Distress:
Guidelines for Faculty and Staff Interventions
This
is an online workshop offered by Penn
State to help the campus identify needs of students
experiencing emotional distress or academic difficulties due to
psychological or behavioral problems. The goal of the workshop is to
help faculty and staff recognize students in distress and make
appropriate referrals for assistance to the campus counseling
center.
