Helpdesk support
The helpdesk will solve simple problems, answer questions and seek help for emergencies.
Problems which take longer than a few minutes to solve will be routed to a technical analyst for resolution.
The helpdesk is manned Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
ITS staff check the helpdesk as possible during evenings and weekends.

Desktop support
Technical analysts setup new computers, reconfigure used computers to prepare them for reuse. They will also assist with virus elimination and prevention, new software installation and the will assist faculty and staff in learning about their desktop computers.
The faculty and staff in each building are assigned a 'first line' technical
analyst. If the load on one individual is too great, other analysts will
step in to assist outside of their assignments. The assignments are listed below.

Web support
Departments seeking assistance with web page design may contact the Webmaster
(webmaster@unca.edu).
It is UNCA policy that each department should prepare their own web content and make every effort to maintain that content.
ITS does not routinely maintain departmental web pages.
A short course on using FrontPage (a web management tool) is available by contacting John Myers
(jmyers@unca.edu).
Student employees
UNCA routinely employs qualified students to assist both the helpdesk and the technical analysts. Student employees will wear ITS identification badges.
Training
ITS staff routinely offers training in WebCT, Banner navigation, and Frontpage.
Based on demand, more courses can be offered.
