UNCA is participating with 14 campuses in the UNC system in a project to migrate the current administrative software to SCT's Banner (ERP) system over the next 2 years.
The new system will strengthen administrative services in five areas: Finance/Alumni and Development/Student Services/Human Resources and Financial Aid.
Systems which are currently in production with Banner are Alumni and Development, Finance and Admissions for Fall 2006 applications.
The following schedule outlines go live periods for the remaining applications:
Financial Aid – February 2006
Student and Faculty Services – March 2006
Human Resources – January 2007
Banner website, http://www.unca.edu/compcenter/banner gives a great deal of detail about the project and who is involved.
At this website are forms for requesting access to Banner as well as the steps required to be issued a Banner account. There are two types of Banner access for faculty and staff.
Most faculty and many staff will use ‘Self Service Banner Applications’. This allows budget inquiry, faculty classroom and advising management, benefits inquiry and update, etc.
A few faculty and staff will require a Banner account which allows more in depth use of the database and data maintenance.

Web Services
Administrative Policy #77 outlines UNCA’s Web Resource Management Policy Departments and individual faculty may have web space for their classroom and academic pursuits.
ITS will manage the web servers, enforce security, and provide guidance to web developers. Content management is the responsibility of individual web developers as outlined in the Web Policy.
ITS receives guidance in the design of the home pages and their immediate off spring from a web committee.
