World of Work Career Interest
Trip to
WASHINGTON DC
during the
2010 Spring Break
(Tentative Dates: March 6th – March 10th).

Wednesday, November 4th – 12:30 – 1:00 pm

Thursday, November 5th - 12:30 – 1:00 pm

Monday, November 9th - 1:00 – 1:30
pm

Tuesday, November 10th -
4:00 – 4:30 pm
Students participating in
this trip will receive the following benefits:

Learn about various careers options.

Receive mentoring from alumni and other professional mentors.

Network with alumni and other professionals at their organizations and
dinner receptions.

Learn about living and working in
Washington DC.
-
Enjoy the cultural opportunities in
Washington DC.
Application Information and
Procedures:

UNC Asheville
full-time degree-seeking students are invited to apply for this
opportunity.

The student
selection process will be based on the quality of applications,
essays,
resumes, and interviews
from students who have not participated in previous World of Work trips.
There are twenty open student slots.
-
A completed
application, resume, one-page essay, a faculty endorsement,
and a $300 trip fee (checks can be made out to the UNC Asheville Career
Center) are due to the Career Center (259 HU) by
Tuesday,
December 1, 2009.

All candidates will
need to participate in a group interview. Sign-up in the
Career Center (259 HU) by
Thursday,
November 19th at noon
for an interview on one of the following
dates/times:
- Monday, November 23rd – 12:30 or 4:00 pm – Career Center – HU 259
- Tuesday, November 24th – 12:30 or 4:00 pm – Career Center – HU 259

Selected candidates
will be notified prior to the
Mandatory Trip
Meeting on
Tuesday,
December 8th, 10:30 am
– 11:30 pm,
in the
HU 259 (Career Center). This is a
tentative date as we will work to accommodate exam schedules.
- Students who are not
selected for this experience will be refunded the
entire $300.00 deposit fee.
