Student Employment

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS 2007-2008

UNC Asheville has over 800 on-campus jobs for students enrolled for six or more credits.  Students may work 20 hours p/week during the academic year and up to 40 hours p/week during semester breaks and the summer months.  Depending on the job skills requirement, wages range from $6.15 to $10.00 p/hour. On-campus jobs are posted online at
www.uncacareercenterpostings.com

Federally funded work-study (FWS) positions* are available for eligible students to work on-campus or in off-campus community service positions.  These positions are also posted online at www.uncacareercenterpostings.com. The FWS Program mostly follows the policies and procedures established by the Student Employment Program for non-FWS campus jobs. Any changes reflect federal accountability concerns. The similarities and differences are highlighted in The Student Employment - Federal Work Study Overview

Information for UNC Asheville Students and Supervisors

*The UNC Asheville priority deadline to apply for Federal Work Study is March 1st for the following fall semester.  Students must reapply each year to FAFSA to qualify for an award.  The application is available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.  For more information, please contact Mickey Olin, Financial Aid, at molin@unca.edu.  You may also visit http://www.unca.edu/financialaid/.
