EMPLOYER SERVICES

Online Job and Internship Posting Service - We provide employers an online posting service for full-time and part-time jobs, internships, and post-graduation fellowships and scholarships.  Both current students and alumni can view these positions.

To post an opportunity choose ONE of the
following methods:

PLEASE NOTE: Opportunities will be posted within 3 business days

1. Log onto our CAREER CENTER ONLINE POSTING SYSTEM which will allow you to post new opportunities, update descriptions, and close your own positions.

2. Download and complete our OPPORTUNITY POSTING REQUEST FORM.  This form is a Microsoft Word document that you may download, complete, and email to career@unca.edu

3. Email complete descriptions to career@unca.edu and we will post them for you.

Have you filled a position that you posted with the UNCA Career Center?  Did you hire a UNCA student or alumni?
If so, we need you to help us update our records.  Contact career@unca.edu with this information.

NOTE: Employers must notify the Career Center when they have filled the position.  This ensures that the posting is removed from our system and our files are updated. Posting a position with the UNCA Career Center constitutes an agreement to do so.

Internship Program - About 300 students intern for academic credit each year.  Students may earn credit for two internships before they graduate; one through their academic department and one through the Career Center.  Many other students pursue internships for non-credit.  For more information about developing or promoting internships to UNC Asheville students, please contact Holly Waltemyer, Career Counselor/Internship Coordinator at 828-251-6867.  Read more about criteria for internships here.

Resume Referral Service - Employers interested in collecting resumes for professional positions and internships should contact the Career Center.

On-Campus Information Tables - Many employers meet students outside of our cafeteria or in the Highsmith University Union during business hours.   Please contact us to showcase your organizations to students on an informal basis.

On-Campus Information Sessions - Employers also have the opportunity to showcase their organizations to students more formally through Employer Information Sessions; typically held in the Highsmith University Union during early evening.

On-Campus Interviews - We welcome employers who would like to hold interviews with students and alumni on-campus.  Typically, we promote the opportunity and collect student and/or alumni resumes for employer review and selection prior to the interview.  The Career Center will assist in confirming the final interview schedule.

Career and Graduate School Fair (Fall Semester) - Our eighth annual Career and Graduate School Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 11am - 3pm.  All employers and graduate schools offering post-graduate professional opportunities are welcome to attend.  We also encourage employers interested in recruiting students for internships to attend this event.  Registration for this event will begin in late July/early August.

Internship and Job Fair (Spring Semester) - Employers offering part-time and seasonal jobs and internships are invited to attend the Internship and Job Fair on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 from 11am - 2pm.  Registration will begin in late December/early January.

Career Panel Presentations - The Career Center and Academic Affairs co-sponsor career panel presentations to introduce students to the connection between the liberal arts and career choices.

Connecting with UNC Asheville Faculty - The UNC Asheville Career Center has Faculty Internship Liaisons and Career Center Liaisons in each academic department.  We provide job, internship, and related career information from your organizations to these liaisons.
