TypeFocus Personality Assessment

The TypeFocus Personality Assessment is an alternative assessment instrument for the Myers Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI).  This assessment and the MBTI are all based on Jung's theory of psychological types and assess patterns of behavior that can be identified in individuals.  Type profiles can be applied to learning styles, career choice, team-building, management styles, relationships and many other areas.

UNCA FYE classes that are administering the TypeFocus Personality Assessment in advance of a presentation by a guest speaker from the Counseling Center or Career Center should follow the instructions listed below:

  1. Go to the TypeFocus website at http://www.typefocus.com/s_complimentary.html
  2. Click on the button that says "Click Here to Continue"
  3. You will be asked to enter your name and gender before taking the assessment.
  4. Complete the sixty-six item instrument.  There are no right or wrong answers, therefore you should not dwell on any one question. Take the instrument as your "Saturday Self", Kick back, relax and answer the questions based on your first instinct. Work fairly quickly - often your first thought is most accurate.
  5. After completing the assessment, your personality will be assessed and you will be provided with a "type". However, we want you to decide for yourself whether you agree with the results so you will be asked to CONFIRM them.
  6. After confirming your results, print out a copy of your results page.

  7. Submit your four-lettered code to your class instructor.  A class list of codes will be assembled and submitted to the class's guest speaker in advance of their presentation.

So go ahead and get started....
