UNC Asheville’s second TEDx event, with more presenters, a larger venue, and a theme of (re) thinking, is set for 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, in Lipinsky Auditorium on campus. TEDx UNC Asheville 2014 is independently organized by students at the university. Tickets are $5 for students, faculty and staff, and $10 for the general public.
This year the lineup consists of 15 speakers and includes students, professors and members of the Asheville community, and organizer Jack Derbyshire ’15 expects to fill the 580 seats in Lipinsky Auditorium.
“The number of unheard voices in Asheville is astounding, and it’s a crime to not take advantage and not recognize our local talent,” said Derbyshire, who is looking forward to sharing these voices with a larger audience this year.
