Dr.Timothy
Forrest,
Associate Professor.
Ph.D., University of Florida.
Dr. Forrest is interested in
the behavioral ecology and evolution of acoustic
and bioluminescent communication. He worked at the
Psychoacoustics Laboratory at the University of
Florida and as a Research Scientist at the National
Center for Physical Acoustics at the University of
Mississippi. Prior to coming to UNCA he was a
post-doctoral associate in Neurobiology and
Behavior at Cornell University. His research
focuses on sensory processes associated with sexual
selection and predation risk. He is currently
funded to use cricket communication as a model
system for understanding mutual synchronization of
biological oscillators.
