The Kamikaze Brain Monitors tallied an impressive win over the Babylon Badasses, and the UNCA Ladies Soccer Club league blow out the competition this week

In the world of Indoor Soccer Kamikaze Brain Monitors used an aggressive defense and skilled offense to defeat the Babylon Badasses 3-0 on Monday.

“We did a really good job getting back on defense,” said Gregg Thuotte, member of Kamikaze Brain Monitors. “Toward the end of the game, we got a little tired, but the game was already in hand by that point. It was an all-around good effort from our team.”

The first two goals for Kamikaze Brain Monitors came in the first half, off of well-placed assists to the middle of the goalie box that allowed their offense to place it in the back of the net.

“We have a few new additions to our team that really helped upgrade our offense,” Thuotte said. “We came out well in the beginning of the game. We have some really good girls on our team, who were placing the ball well for us, and our defense was not allowing the other team to score.”

The Babylon Badasses’ offense did not move the ball up the field well. There was not a lot of motion from their offensive players, you could hear their teammates urging their front line to move up the field, according to Thuotte.

“They have got some good guys on their teams, it was just tough for them to do anything with the ball when they wanted to move the ball up and take a shot at goal,” Thuotte said.

The Babylon Badasses brought with them a supporting cast of fans who cheered for them throughout the entire game. While many strong plays were made by the team, Kamikaze Brain Monitors were too much for them. The final goal in the game came with six minutes remaining in the second half that put the game out of reach for the Babylon Badasses.

“The season so far this year has been a lot of fun. We have to work out some small mental errors that have caused us to give up some goals this season,” Thuotte said. “Not taking anything from any of the other teams, simply because we haven’t played them. But the Wookies and Monsoon are two of the teams we have played that were real good competition.”

Other games from Monday saw the UNCA Ladies Soccer Club convincingly handle the Baptist Bulldogs 13-0. The Wood pulled off an impressive 7-3 over Bingus Big Head, and Just for Kicks lost by six to the Renegades 7-1.
