At the end of the three-hour Arts and Ideas course, students will be able to discuss the following:

1. The necessity of art as part of everyday life.
2. The pluralities involved in defining art.
3. The interpretation of art from a variety of perspectives.
4. The nature of artistic identity and the creative process.
5. The role of the audience in the arts.
6. The economic, political, historical, and social influences on art.
