We need your
help in putting together a remarkable, "life altering" experience for UNC
Asheville students. The UNC Asheville Career Center and Alumni Office are
coordinating a World of Work trip to Chicago, March 1 to 5 (during spring
break). The goal of the trip is to provide students a unique
opportunity to explore careers in which they have interest by having close,
personal contact with professionals in the field, especially UNC Asheville
Alumni. We think that it is important that UNC Asheville students learn
there is life after graduation, and what better role models could there be
than our own alumni?
We are
looking for alums and contacts who would be willing to help out in any or all of the
following ways:
1.
Meet with a student or students to talk about your career field, preferably
in your work environment
2. Give a tour and introduce students to colleagues in your work
place
3. Be part of lunch or dinner conversations about finding a job and
making a life in Chicago, or going to graduate or
professional
school in Chicago.
Additionally, outside of your own work you may have
friends/associates/colleagues in other fields that might also be willing to
help out. Our hope is to give students opportunities to make contacts with
a wide range of career professionals, from new hires to senior leaders.
We really
need your help to make this a successful program. A list of the student
interest areas follows. Please send Kevan Frazier a message (kfrazier@unca.edu)
or call him at 800.774.3381 to discuss how you can help.
