Each year more than 100 college graduates prepare for the graduate school admission test by enrolling in one of the 6 sessions the GRE Prep Class offered through UNC Asheville.

Experienced Teachers

The GRE prep classes are taught by two experienced test prep teachers who review the content areas covered by the GRE and also outline test-taking strategies. The teachers and the course consistently get high evaluations from the students. Since the beginning of the test prep program at UNC Asheville in the 1990’s, we have encouraged students to give us honest feedback about the classes. That student input has contributed to the course development and helped us fine tune the class to meet student needs.

Class Schedule

Each session of the class meets two nights a week for four weeks. Four class meetings are dedicated to math and the quantitative part of the GRE. Four nights of class are spent preparing for the verbal and writing portions of the GRE.

Each night of class meets formally from 6pm until 8:30pm. After the class dismisses, the teachers stay another 30 minutes to help individual students with problem areas or just to give practice test items to those who want extra coaching and assistance.

Registration

Students may register by phone with a credit card or by mailing in the registration form with payment. Once a registration is received, a confirmation letter is sent to students with a receipt, room location, directions to campus, a campus map and information about parking.

The $325 registration fee includes $100 in materials: a textbook about preparing for the GRE, a book with official GRE practice tests and a CD with practice tests.
