How does tutoring work?
If you are experiencing academic difficulty or just want to do your best in a course, University Peer Tutoring can help. We match tutors with students who want to master course content as well as develop and integrate active learning and study skills. Best of all, this service covers most 100- and 200-level classes at UNC Asheville and gives you up to 2 hours of tutoring per week free of charge.
Students may receive tutoring through our drop-in tutorial centers or on an individual basis. We offer drop-in tutoring in several subjects and you can find this semester's schedules here: Accounting, Classics (Greek & Latin), General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Ecology, French and Spanish. If the subject you need tutoring for is not covered by a tutorial center, we can provide a tutor to work with you on an individual basis for 100 and 200 level classes in:

If you need tutoring in a subject that is not listed above, please come by and talk with us. We will do our best to find a tutor for you! Please note: We do not provide individual tutors in subjects covered by the tutorial centers without extenuating circumstances.
How do I get a tutor?
To request an individual tutor, please complete the Tutor Request Form (or Tutor Request for Athletes) and Tutee Contract and return them to the OneStop Center in University Hall.
How do I get approved to work as a tutor?
Students who qualify can tutor in a specific subject area once they are approved by a faculty member within the appropriate department. For more information or to find out how you can qualify, stop by the OneStop Center in University Hall.
