Online Overrides

Online overrides allow you to grant permission to students who have any of the following registration conflicts into your classes:

  • pre-requisite
  • co-requisite
  • time conflicts
  • closed/special permission course

However, faculty cannot override link, repeat course, or maximum hour errors. These errors must be addressed in the OneStop Office.

Entering an online override does not mean you have registered a student for your course!

Once you have entered an online override for a class, the student must then register for the course via OnePort.

How to enter an online override for your classes in OnePort

  1. Log into OnePort
  2. Select the Faculty tab
  3. Choose Academic Services
  4. Click "continue" under Banner Services
  5. Choose Faculty Services
  6. Choose Registration Overrides. You will be prompted to search for the student you are assigning the override to.
  7. Identify the type of override you are granting and the course it is for. You may need to enter multiple overrides (for example, if the class is full and the student has not taken the pre-requisite, you will need to enter both Closed Class and Pre-requisite overrides).
  8. Click the submit button twice to confirm the override. The student must now register for the class through OnePort.
