Become a Tutor

ARE YOU INTERESTED?

If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor, visit OneStop Student Services in University Hall to speak with Stephanie Franklin to receive information and an application to become a tutor for our program. We are proud of the fact that our Peer Tutoring program is student-centered; currently enrolled students both receive and serve as tutors within the program.

What are some of the benefits of being a tutor?

  • Earn a little extra money with the convenience of working on campus
  • Assist your fellow UNC Asheville students
  • Receive training on how to build your skills as a tutor
  • Repetition of material helps reinforce your own understanding of the subject and promotes connections between previously-learned and new information.
  • Build a marketable skill worthy of noting on your resume

We currently offer tutoring labs in the following subjects:

               Biology          Chemistry

               Classics         French

               Physics          Spanish

Although our focus is on offering tutoring within a lab setting, sometimes it is necessary for us to offer individualized tutoring for subjects not offered in a tutorial lab. In such circumstances, we will try our best to establish a tutoring opportunity that fits the student's tutoring request.

Below is a link to the Tutoring Session Report, which must be submitted in OneStop by each time sheet deadline.
