As the cornerstone of your liberal arts education at UNC Asheville, the Integrative Liberal Studies (ILS) program emphasizes the integration and synthesis of knowledge across traditional disciplinary boundaries. The ILS program invites you to deepen your understanding of complex contemporary issues through interdisciplinary topics and courses.

  • All degree-seeking students must complete the ILS program, regardless of major.
  • You and your academic advisor will work together to make sure that you're satisfying these requirements.
