Welcome!

Congratulations on being admitted to UNC Asheville for Spring 2009! On behalf of the entire campus community, we would like to welcome you to UNC Asheville and the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. As a new student, we're sure you will have many questions about the university and what you need to do before your first day of classes. We've put together this site to answer those questions and to help you make a smooth transition to UNC Asheville.

We encourage you to explore the links on this site to find out more about the opportunities available for learning at UNC Asheville. If you have additional questions or would like more information, please contact Advising & Learning Support at 828-350-4500.

Course registration information:

All new freshmen and new transfer students should plan to attend embark, UNC Asheville's new student orientation program.

Orientation is the first and most important step in becoming a Bulldog and is required for student success at UNC Asheville. At embark, you’ll learn about academic advising, registering for classes, campus resources, and much more. Each session is packed with information and chances to meet other new students. You will also have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor, with whom you will review your academic history and goals and plan your first semester schedule. After you meet with your advisor, you will be able to register for classes online through OnePort.

After you submit your tuition deposit, you should register for embark. To register for embark, please select the appropriate link on the right (Freshman embark RSVP or Transfer embark RSVP). Parent orientation is also provided during embark. Parents who are interested in attending embark should RSVP by selecting the Parent Orientation RSVP link on the right.

Other new students will receive information about their registration process in their Admissions materials.
