A significant part of Summit Orientation will be devoted to planning your schedule and registering for classes.
Before you arrive for Summit you should spend some time planning your schedule. This is not always a simple task, so allow plenty of time to read over your information, create your schedule, and make sure you have a list of back-up courses. You will be assigned an advisor for the day to look over your planned schedule, but your session will be more successful if you plan ahead. Below you will find some information and links to assist you in planning.

|
Step V: |
Continue selecting classes that are general requirements, courses for your major, and/or courses that interest you until you have at least eight courses. It is probably wise to go ahead and have additional courses listed in rank-order. |
If you took French, Spanish, or Latin in high school, and have not completed the Foreign Language requirement through your transfer credit, you should take the Foreign Language Placement test at Summit. This test is not mandatory but it is to your advantage to take if you plan to continue in the same language taken in high school to fulfill the foreign language requirement. | Step VI: | When you attend Summit you will begin registering for classes, and this process will continue after Summit). You should plan to take around 15 semester hours. In addition to your LSIC course, you'll probably register for 2 more classes. |
Information about Logging On to Register Note: In order to insure that students attending each phase of Summit registration have similar choices in course selections all new students: (1) will register for two additional courses (up to a total of 11 semester hours, in addition to your LSIC course) during the Summit Phase One sessions, and (2) class enrollments will be set to lower limits for the June 13th Summit session and increased gradually for each subsequent session, i.e., Lang 120 classes may have enrollment limits of 5 students on June 13th, 10 students on June 16th, 15 students on June 20th, and so on. |
