Cultural & Special Events
The Office of Cultural & Special Events presents the largest of UNC Asheville’s performing arts and distinguished speakers series, featuring world-class performances by musicians, vocal groups, dance and theater companies, authors and lecturers who visit campus each semester. Students may obtain free or reduced-price tickets for any of the performances and lectures.
Nearly all these talented artists visit classrooms, offer hands-on and interactive workshops in their fields, and participate in up-close and personal discussions with our campus community while they are here.
The Cultural & Special Events Committee welcomes student participation to make these big events happen. The Office of Cultural & Special Events also sponsors special performances, exhibits, lectures, films, workshops and discussions presented by UNC Asheville or regional groups.
Concerts on the Quad, the popular summer music series, features talented area performers and musicians on our outdoor stage in the center of campus. The campus and Asheville community are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic, sit back and relax while enjoying these popular Monday evening concerts in June and July.
