Hi, I'm Leigh
McBride, Associate Director of Admissions. Born in Wilmington, NC, I came
to UNC Asheville as a Freshman from a large high school in South Carolina. UNC-Asheville and
Asheville quickly became my home for 4 years as I found it easy to become
involved in all facets of campus life. Highlights of my undergrad career
include being the Bulldog mascot, studying abroad at Oxford, England,
exploring scenic Western North Carolina, receiving a quality education and
making lifelong friendships. I graduated in the exciting '70's and
received degrees in French and Spanish. It's great to be part of the
Admissions team at my alma mater! I enjoy meeting people from all over the
world and sharing with them what makes UNC Asheville such a special place. In my
spare time, I like to read, travel (most recently to Ireland &
Scotland), hike, follow UNC-Asheville sports, study Irish Gaelic, spend quality
time with my 3 cats and check out the unique shops, restaurants and
music/art/drama scene in Asheville.
