UNC Asheville Web Templates and Instructions
This resource contains basic templates that
accompany the primary design of the UNC Asheville web site. Combine these templates
to create a typical departmental or administrative web site. While all of the
templates contain "comment tags" to assist developers, use of the
templates requires basic knowledge of web page design and HTML programming.
To use the templates, do not view the
template and "copy and paste" source code. Instead, please click on
"Customizing the Code" beneath each template for instructions on
preparing your department's page for the web.

Template 1
Template 1 is intended for use as a home page for
a departmental or administrative unit. It serves as a gateway for all other
pages within the site. Features:
- Large department banner with department name,
provided by the Computer Center
- An introductory paragraph
- Gray box featuring new and current
announcements (if desired)
- Office contact information
- Web site navigation
- Quick Links (if desired)
- Official UNCA web site footer

Template 2
Template 2 is intended for use for upper level
pages of your department's web site. Use this template if the text of your page will be less
than one to two screens in length. Also note that the gray "announcement" box
and department name and contact
information are eliminated.

Template 3
Template 3 is intended for use for pages which
are "deeper down" in your site or for pages which contain a great
deal of information. Notice that the text spans the entire width of the page to prevent excessive vertical scrolling. Features:
