University Planning Council
The University Planning Council (UPC) is a group of faculty, staff, and student leaders who gather monthly to provide a context for sharing information and making recommendations to the Chancellor … “with respect to matters of budget, programs, planning, state administration, mission, and campus life.” Duties specifically assigned to UPC relating to the Strategic Plan:
- Assist in the development, communication and implementation of University planning
- Participate in the annual setting and communication of University budget priorities
- Review periodically the University mission, goals, values, and strategic plan, and progress toward realizing these
(from Faculty Senate document 8407S, approved 05/03/2007)
As the primary planning body for the campus, UPC plays a leadership role in the monitoring of campus progress toward the goals of the Strategic Plan. As such, they have assisted in setting benchmarks and targets for each goal and advised and informed the workgroups undertaking the goals. Where appropriate, they will participate in any decisions to revise the benchmarks and targets.
